Big Joe Fitz is a soulful Hudson Valley musician and bandleader whose style blends blues, jazz, country, gospel, and Latin influences into a warm, inviting sound. For more than three decades, he has been a fixture of the regional music scene, fronting his group Big Joe Fitz & The Lo-Fi’s with a signature “soulful, swinging, blues” approach that emphasizes connection over volume. In addition to performing, he became well known as the longtime host of The Sunday Night Blues Break on WDST in Woodstock, where his intimate late-night broadcasts built deep ties with the community. His recordings, including This Is Big and Shoulda Known Better, highlight his ability to re-imagine classics with emotional honesty and understated power.
